A hearty congratulations to Firefighter Coitt Kessler (Q18/C), who was recognized last week by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Post 6155 as their Firefighter of the Year! It is the Post's highest honor. Coitt was honored for his community service, including serving as a founding member of the Emergency Services Pipes and Drums Association (ESPADA) and his work in the creation of the St. Baldrick's event, where firefighters shave their heads on St. Patrick's Day to raise money for children fighting cancer.
At the ceremony on Sunday, February 19, Coitt learned that he had also won the Firefighter of the Year award for the state level of the VFW (to be presented at a later date) and that he is now in the running for the national award. Way to go, Coitt!
