Drawing for University of Texas/Wyoming Game Tickets

In honor of September 11th the University of Texas has provided Austin Fire Department with 100 tickets for first responders. This is the game between UT and Wyoming at 6:00 pm. Chief Kerr will be an honorary team captain and will be on the field for the coin toss; the Austin Fire Department Challenge coin will be used for the coin toss. Other first responders and guests from law enforcement and EMS will be attending as well. All first responders will be sitting together in the north east section of the stadium.

At halftime, the first responders and their guests will be ushered onto the field to stand in the receiving line as the UT football team enters the field for the second half. Uniforms are not necessary and probably won't be worn by any other agency. In fact you’re encouraged to wear the AFD 9-11 T-shirt, your Texas Hook ‘em Horns shirt, or the orange UT shirts available from Local 975.

We will conduct a drawing for the tickets on Friday, September 3. To be eligible, you must be an AFD first responder, you must be off duty, and you must be available to attend. Please do not sign up for the drawing unless you are certain you’ll be able to go. If your name is drawn, you will receive a ticket for you and one guest. To enter the drawing, send an email to mandy.ray@ci.austin.tx.us no later than midnight Thursday, September 2. Be sure to include how you’d like to be contacted if you are selected.
